Track Phone HLR lookup History with Clean Dial's "Last HLR Query" Property

New Feature Release!

I just added the ability to see when a phone number on a contact was last checked if it was live. This is through a custom datetime property called Last HLR Query.

This is part of a series of features I'm releasing to help users maintain visibility over their data hygiene efforts over time, because data quality isn't just about cleaning your database once.

Here are some of the key features:

• Automatic Timestamp Updates: Every time a phone number is verified in a contact workflow, Clean Dial updates the last_hlr_query property with a timestamp

• Zero Performance Impact: The update happens asynchronously in the background, so your validation workflows run at full speed

• Organized Data: Properties are grouped under "Clean Dial Properties" for easy management

 

Currently this feature is only for Contact records, but if you'd find it useful on another standard object, let me know at contact@daeda.tech

Setup

Head to CRM > Contacts > select a Contact > go to Key Information > Actions > Customise Properties > search for Last HLR Query under Clean Dial.

For new users

Simply install Clean Dial here.

The "Last HLR Query" property will be created automatically during setup and will start tracking live or dead numbers immediately from workflows youset up.

 

For existing users

If you installed before 01/12/25 then please reinstall as you'll need to accept some new scopes e.g. read/write to contacts.

Otherwise no action needed! The next time you run a HLR Lookup workflow on a contact record, the custom property will be created automatically and the timestamp will be recorded.

Quick tip - setup re-verification workflows

 Create a workflow that:

1. Enrolls contacts where "Last HLR Query" is older than 180 days (or your preferred interval)

2. Re-verifies the phone number using Clean Dial's HLR Lookup action

3. Ensures your database stays fresh automatically

 

How to use this to build data quality dashboards

1. Create custom reports showing:

• Percentage of live contacts in the last 90 days

• Trend of verification activity over time

• Breakdown by contact lifecycle stage or other segmentation

 

2. Include in Onboarding Processes

 Add phone live checks to your contact onboarding workflows to ensure every new contact gets timestamped from the start.
