If you've been asking HubSpot's Breeze AI to "search the web" for information, I need to share an important reality check: it can't actually do this, even though it might appear to be searching.
I recently conducted a simple experiment to test Breeze AI's capabilities. I asked it to "Search for the latest OpenAI products and tell me about them."
The response looked comprehensive and confident, but was suspiciously outdated:
It mentioned:
Notice what's missing? There's no mention of SORA (OpenAI's text-to-video model), o1-mini, or any of the recent developments making headlines. Why? Because Breeze AI isn't actually searching anything - it's limited to the information it was trained on.
This limitation creates a particularly deceptive situation:
Here's what's happening: true web search functionality requires specialized architecture that integrates search engines with AI systems. Companies that offer this capability (like Perplexity or Bing Chat) explicitly advertise it as a feature.
HubSpot's Breeze AI has no documented search capabilities. When you ask it to "search," it's simply generating a response based on its existing knowledge, not retrieving fresh information from the internet.
To get the most from Breeze AI:
Know the true capabilities of your AI tools. When you ask Breeze AI to do something it can't actually do, don't be surprised when it confidently provides outdated or fabricated information.
Have you experienced this limitation with Breeze AI? What other capabilities have you found it does (or doesn't) have?
