Track when each contact's phone number changes with automatic timestamp logging

Overview

Clean Dial's Last Phone Change Tracking automatically monitors and records when phone numbers are updated on your HubSpot contact records. This feature creates a complete audit trail of phone number modifications, helping you identify when contact data may need validation and ensuring your outreach efforts target the most current information.

Last Phone Change Property on Contact

How It Works

When phone numbers are updated on contact records, Clean Dial automatically:

  1. Detects changes to the Phone Number property on Contact records
  2. Captures the exact timestamp when the change occurred
  3. Saves this timestamp to a custom property called Last Phone Change

This happens seamlessly in the background - no additional workflow setup required.

Setting Up the Custom Property

To view phone change timestamps on your contact records:

  1. Navigate to CRM > Contacts
  2. Select any contact record
  3. Go to Key Information section
  4. Click Actions > Customize Properties
  5. Search for "Last Phone Change" under the Clean Dial section
  6. Add the property to display on contact records

Benefits

Data Freshness Monitoring

  • See at a glance when each contact's phone number was last updated
  • Identify contacts with potentially stale phone data
  • Track data decay patterns across your contact database

Smart Validation Workflows

  • Trigger validation only for contacts whose numbers haven't changed recently
  • Avoid unnecessary API calls on fresh data
  • Focus validation efforts where they're most needed

Sales Intelligence

  • Prioritize outreach to contacts with recently updated (verified fresh) phone numbers
  • Flag contacts whose phone data may be outdated
  • Improve connect rates by targeting validated numbers first

Use Cases

Intelligent Re-validation Workflows - create workflows that automatically trigger phone validation for contacts whose numbers haven't been updated in 90+ days, ensuring you're always calling current numbers.

Sales Prioritization Lists - build contact views that prioritize prospects with recently updated phone numbers, giving your sales team the best chance of successful connection.

Data Decay Monitoring - generate reports showing which contacts have the oldest phone number data, helping you proactively address data quality issues.

Lifecycle-Based Validation - set up workflows that validate phone numbers based on contact lifecycle stage and data age - for example, validating all SQL contacts whose phone numbers are older than 30 days.
